🔥 DuckDuckGo Power Features

Bangs (!) - Search specific sites directly

Bangs like !gh (GitHub), !so (Stack Overflow), !w (Wikipedia), !yt (YouTube) search directly on those sites.

Company-specific search (custom bangs)

These will be converted to site: operators for targeted searching.

✅ DuckDuckGo Operators That Work

  • site: - Works exactly like Google (e.g., site:reddit.com)
  • "quotes" - Exact match search
  • Boolean logic - OR (capitalized), AND (default), - (NOT)
  • intitle: - Search in page titles (looser than Google)
  • inurl: - Search in URLs
  • Parentheses - Group terms (e.g., (site:reddit.com OR site:hn.com))

❌ What Doesn't Work

  • filetype: - Not reliably supported (workaround: site:edu pdf "topic")
  • cache: - Not supported
  • related: - Not supported
Each line becomes part of an OR group.

Must-have keywords & companies

E.g. company name, team name, niche skill.
One per line or comma-separated. If unchecked, companies are ignored.

Target sites

Select common job boards or add your own domains below.
Examples: linkedin.com, indeed.com, glassdoor.com, etc. These become -site:domain.com exclusions.

Work mode & location

Becomes something like ("remote" OR "work from home" OR "hybrid" ...). Works best on job boards; Google Jobs may ignore location text.

Exclusions

One per line or comma-separated. Each becomes -keyword.

Search filters

DuckDuckGo does not support time-based filtering like Google's tbs parameter. DuckDuckGo respects Boolean operators. Standard mode uses implicit AND (space).
These help target job-specific pages.

Run your search

DuckDuckGo supports most Boolean operators. Note: filetype:, cache:, and related: operators may not work reliably.
